I think it’s been a while since we talked holsters so how bout some goods from Galco? Best known for their array of leather holsters, as we mentioned with the King Tuk, they’ve also been giving love to the Kydex. It only makes sense as the material is fantastic and people love the sturdy nature and retention qualities it can provide.
This bad boy gives away it’s secret with the name “Double Time” and as you might have guessed (or read) with some simple adjustment it can be worn either inside the waistband or outside the waistband. While not a terribly revolutionary concept it’s a great feature to have and Galco has done a fine job at adapting this style.
The open top design allows for a proper grip acquisition and a fast draw so if and when you decide to take a pistol course or two you can flip the hardware and utilize the same holster that serves CCW duty. Practicing with the same holster will better acquaint you with your gear and save you the time and hassle of dealing with a pile of holsters used for different tasks.
Should you favor a leather (premium steerhide) holster and are looking for IWB only carry then consider the Galco V-Hawk. Shown here with the 1.25″ C-Hooks it also comes with 1.5 inch belt look attachments. The wide spacing of the belt attachments lends excellent stability to the design and again, the open top offers both speed and ease of draw. The sturdy, reinforced mouth allows for an easy, one-hand return to the holster.
Doesn’t hurt that it looks pretty either. Thanks Galco.
