One of the challenges of writing a daily blog after the initial, “What the heck do I write about?” moment is trying to strike a balance between information and entertainment. Not entertainment in the sense that you’ll be laughing or crying each day but something that’s halfway interesting to read and doesn’t sound 100% like a commercial.

Another thing that takes some work to avoid is excessive repetition. Sometimes however, certain products garner more attention and you might see them mentioned more than once (but not too often). While browsing for more info on some of 5.11 Tactical’s latest 2012 gear I found what I believe is an independent review of the 5.11 STRYKE pant.

In case you weren’t aware, tactical gear can often be harder to come by overseas but if you search around you’ll find websites, blogs and YouTube channels from huge 5.11 fans all over the globe. It looks like a crew of badasses over in Greece are fans of 5.11 Tactical (you’ll see the huge banner) and they put some STRYKE pants to work.

Now how’s that for entertainment? They may be a little behind in choice of soundtrack but look at them go! No still shooting range shots here and you can clearly see the range of motion that’s possible in these newer pants from the 5.11 Tactical family. I’m not qualified to critique their tactics so I won’t go there. I am curious to know what other’s have learned about using their AR15/M4 muzzle as a baton or striking device.

Although I can’t read most of it, the folks at DRCS – Direct Reactive Controlling System have a pretty well laid out and thorough website. Again, we aren’t advocating their training we just appreciate their enthusiasm and their “testing” of the 5.11 STRYKE pant in a less traditional manner that we might expect.
