As difficult as it can be to think of daily blog topics I can only imagine the creativity it takes to bring fresh new products to the market. One brand that we love to talk about that is consistently introducing new and creative products is Maxpedition Hard Use Gear. If so inclined, I could choose an item from their lineup to feature everyday and I’d have fuel for quite a while.
I’m particularly fond of their more compact options as I’m not as huge a gear guy as I’d like to be. I was able to acquire one of the Maxpedition FR-1 Pouches shortly after making it the topic of this blog post. One of Maxpedition’s newest products is likely the smallest of the bunch.
I guess the post title gave it away but here is the Maxpedition Tactical Luggage Lock. I’m not quite sure what’s tactical about it but it looks cool branded with the Maxpedition logo. Perhaps its design will aid the less-than-tactical TSA in checking out your bag’s conntents without getting out the wire cutters.
The color you see here is Foliage Green and I like that it looks more grey than green (might look different in person). It also comes in Khaki and Black because we know you can’t have your lock clashing with your bag color.
The three digit dial combo should keep the amateur bag molester away but the main point of this lock is that it’s Travel Sentry approved and TSA friendly.
Frequent travelers carrying Maxpedition will be happy to know their goods are safer but will allow for inspection without damage or delay (not guarantied, TSA employees are unpredictable).
The flexible, coated steel locking cable is tough but flexible enough to provide a little give when locking overstuffed compartments. Maxpedition also claims the cable is “very difficult, if not impossible to cut through.” Who’s going to find out?
