Not how I’d usually write a date but I believe military procedures include writing the day and then the month. It’s also possible they write out the full year 2013. Either way I figured it was a bit more creative than saying Halloween 2013 with the 31 and the 13 surrounding the 10. Maybe not.
My best laid plans for the day involve more than handing out candy and I might even “dress up” like a wannabe operator with loaded up chest rig. Not sure I’ll rock a pistol on my hip but as long as I’m on private propery we’ll call it part of the costume.
If you haven’t done so already, add to your list of today’s plans a trip to our website where you can take advantage of our 10% Off Halloween Sale. As you can see in the lovely graphic above it ends tonight 31-10-13 at Midnight PST. Use that coupon code during the checkout process and enjoy the sweet treat of savings.
I could end today’s post there but I already hinted at this sale a couple of days ago and I don’t think I’d be earning my keep if entered this entry on my invoice. I decided to input “Halloween” into our website’s search bar and only one result came up and thus we have today’s topic of discussion.
I have posted about the Brite Strike All Purpose Adhesive Light Strip before but it’s worth mentioning again in part thanks to Halloween and because I’m pretty sure that was a long while ago.
The All Purpose Adhesive Light Strip (APALS®) are considered the next generation replacement for chemical light sticks. They were designed by military operators searching for a low cost, ultra reliable, long lasting combat identifier. Completely submersible and dustproof, the hermetically sealed APALS® are intended for use in the worst possible conditions, from the searing heat of the desert to the frigid waters of the harshest seas.
About the size of a band-aid and as thick as a credit card, APALS® have a heavy-duty Mil Spec 3M® adhesive back that holds tight to any surface wet or dry. The ultra-visible APALS® will go anywhere you go.
Anywhere you go including the mean streets of the local suburb on a mission to liberate its residents of every last piece of sugary goodness they might have stashed away. Buy enough of these stick-on wonders and they can become their own costume.
While the All Purpose Adhesive Light Strip was originally developed for military and law enforcement, the other applications are numerous and only limited by your imagination. The APALS® are the perfect thing to bring on a camping trip. Not only can it be used as a low level personal safety light but it makes a great marker to identify the tent and latrine.
The APALS® can also be carried while hiking and camping for trail marking or emergency preparedness in case you find yourself in a search and rescue situation. The APALS® are perfect for the glove compartment in case of break-down situations to mark your vehicle or your person in a low light situation.
It is a great identifier when worn on a bike helmet or motorcycle jacket for visibility purposes. Try one on your dog’s collar when going for that evening walk. They are perfect for a child’s backpack or Halloween costume so that your child is sure to be seen and safe.
Brite Strike did a good job of providing examples of potential, practical uses for these lights because when you first come across them you might initially think they’re just a novelty. It’s evident they have a wide range of uses and there are more ideas listed on our item product page.
