It’s difficult to find something that sucks about going to the shooting range (besides other people), but there’s one thing most of us could probably agree upon. Loading magazines sucks. Ever seen a new shooter with a new handgun mag trying to get the last two rounds in there? You’ve probably helped them.
Pistol or rifle, I always make sure I have my mags loaded before I head to the range. That way I can at least get some rounds down range before the first reload hassle. Loading rifle mags isn’t quite as bad but it’s still time consuming.
That is unless you have one of those babies. Yep, blog images are still FUBAR so please click the nice link and come back if you like. As a quick summary I need only ask a simple question – How would you like to load 50 rounds in 15 seconds?
With 30 round magazines you’ll be 10 short but that’s a minor detail as the last 10 can be loaded by hand or with a couple more strokes of the plunger on the Caldwell AR-15 Mag Charger. For our poor poor friends in the land of 10 round mags, you’ll have them all loaded up before you know it.
The Caldwell AR15 Mag Charger was designed to accept 50 loaded rounds directly from any common 50 round ammo manufacturer box or from aftermarket 50 round plastic storage boxes. Simply align bullet tips and dump a box of ammo into the Mag Charger. The ammo is automatically aligned without touching a single round.
Once filled with ammo, insert any AR magazine into the Mag Charger just as you would into a rifle. Then actuate the plunger back and forth loading 5 rounds per stroke as the spring loaded ammo carrier automatically advances aligning the next five rounds until magazine is fully loaded.
Pretty darn slick. 5 rounds per stroke so like I said, your 10 round magazines will make being a two pump chump acceptable for a change. You’ll be scrambling for empty mags just to keep playing with this thing.
An Ammo Transfer Tray is included to invert ammo that is positioned in boxes with the bullet tips oriented down or to stage bulk ammo for dumping into Mag Charger. Use the included tray or simply dump your standard 20 round boxes into the charger. No matter how long it takes you to get 50 rounds in the thing you’ll make it all up anyway.
Any magazine that fits into your standard AR15 lower should work with the Caldwell AR-15 Mag Charger. If you’re one of those crazy kids with a Surefire 60 or 100 round magazine you should have your credit card out already. It even loads DRUMS. That’s right, load your 100 round drum in 30 seconds.
