Let’s Talk Performance Shirts

by on Comments Closed

If you’re a runner, but are like me, someone who has bad knees from a past sports injury, then you run on a treadmill at your local gym. You’re trapped in a public toilet stall-sized space with a moving floor for what seems like forever, staring off into space or a train wreck of “reality” television shows that populate the late evening channels on a screen in front of you. Let’s face it: running at the gym is not fun.

Do I even need to mention that I look terrible when I run indoors? The fluorescent lighting, the zombie-stare straight ahead, no wind gently combing my hair, and everything in between. And to add insult to injury, I have to stay in my sweaty clothes until I get back home, which is as comfortable as I look graceful on a treadmill.

Then I tried performance shirts, which has changed my life. I went from feeling like a sweaty unattractive amateur on a treadmill to definitely looking like Gerald Butler with his 20-pack abs on the poster of 300, a movie about a bunch of 20-pack ab Spartan warriors looking manly.

For those of you who don’t know what performance shirts are, they are shirts made with a special blend of polyester, cotton, spandex, or all of the above. Some of them have mesh ventilation systems that helps your body cool off much faster, and almost all of them have moisture wicking technology that sucks your sweat to the outer surface of the clothes. No matter how vigorous your training session was, you will be dry and cool within minutes.

“That sounds super expensive. What if I don’t want to spend $50 on one shirt?”

LA Police Gear is having a crazy deal on FUBAR Factory Second Training Shirts for $5 each, which is less than what you would pay for a sandwich in some places. This is 100% polyester made with a super-thin fabric that makes it breathable and lightweight, which makes it perfect for looking like a godly figure on a treadmill, even if you’re just running in place. I have a bunch of these in white, and even after a couple of months, the only defect I can really find is the misspelling of the word “training.” You might want to grab the last remaining ones, because these will not be priced this low again (probably).

If you want a higher quality shirt, The Under Armour HeatGear Compression T-Shirt is a good choice. Right now, select sizes are going for $19.99. The blend is polyester and spandex, and the shirt has a slight distinct sheen to it that makes it look and feel a little like silk. Under Armour is a company known for their awesome undergarments and underwear, so it will be difficult for you to find faults in these compression shirts.

“But what if I need something with long sleeves?”

My absolute favorite shirt that LA Police Gear carries is the Blackhawk Engineered Fit Shirt with Long Sleeves and a Quarter Zip. I have to admit that the zipper in a piece of undergarment made me hesitate for a second, but after having worn it a countless number of times, I can confirm that the zipper is barely noticeable and is actually a nice feature if you want to ventilate body heat fast or if you want to show off your sculpted pectoralis major muscle. The fabric is made from a combination of polyester, Lycra, spandex, and nylon. The underarms and back are gusseted with a ventilation mesh, which keeps you from overheating. It is lightweight, form-fitting, and moisture-wicking. Also, it’s only $9.99. If you’re a fan of compression shirts or want to try one out based on recommendations, this is the one.

“Okay, that’s great and all, but say in the middle of a run, I get a call for a very important business meeting that I need to go to RIGHT NOW and I need to look professional. What then?”

Luckily for you, LA Police Gear has recently introduced its own line of Performance Polos, in black and tan. These have all the important features you’d expect in a tactical polo, but for only $17.99. The material is a thick 100% polyester fabric that looks good under any lighting, and the no-roll collar is sure to make a statement about how serious you are about business stuff. The moisture wicking technology will also keep you and your shirt cool and dry, no matter how intense your business meeting gets. People will be so amazed at how good you look in the LA Police Gear Tactical Performance Polo that they won’t even see that you’re wearing basketball shorts.

There are tons of more performance outfits in the LA Police Gear Closeout sections at an awesome deal over here and over here. Grab a few before they’re all gone to improve your quality of life on the treadmill!
