NEW Expedition Carry-On Duffel

by on Comments Closed

For those who are already familiar with the LA Police Gear brand, you know that they make some high-quality products. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise this new duffel bag is no different. There are a few extra touches to the bag to help it stand out from the rest. The first thing you will notice about this bag is the strong 600D polyester construction. The top flap gives you the option to place your favorite morale patch in the center; however, should you choose not to, the LAPG logo is embossed into the Velcro to complete the look anyway. The front of the duffel has laser-cut MOLLE webbing to add on an extra pouch if needed. Or you can just throw on another morale patch and nametape onto the webbing instead. And since it’s available in your choice of three colors – black, coyote and OD green, there are plenty of options to customize your new duffel bag. The bottom of the bag has a flexible plastic and foam insert, providing the bag with some rigidity as well as padding, should you wear it in its backpack form. Lastly, there are two rubber-feeling grip strips on the bottom to make sure your bag doesn’t slide around. Wherever you put it down is where it will stay.

The inside is lined not only with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to improve water resistance, but as many pockets as your heart could desire – seven to be exact. Don’t let the “carry-on” name fool you. This duffel bag has no shortage of storage space, all while maintaining airline carry-on regulations. Two microfiber-lined pockets on the outside of the top flap give you a spot for your phone and sunglasses, while the mesh pockets surround the length inside for other items. The outside also includes a small and very well-hidden pocket in the center of the back. Underneath the bag you will find another large zipper, which once opened, reveals a stow-away area containing two well-padded backpack straps that pull out and clip to two loops on the bottom – giving you another mode of carry for your bag. The bag is large enough to carry any standard plate carrier, boots, your choice of helmet and other smaller gear – all at the same time. Two internal straps along with four external straps give you the ability to cinch the bag down onto itself should you not need all the space provided, helping it maintain the smallest necessary profile.

Bottom line, it’s LAPG quality: it feels very solid and strong when handling it, the zippers glide smoothly with no extra fabric to get caught up in, all the stitching is reinforced, and it has more than enough room for your gear. This bag will fit in the overhead compartment of a plane without issue. Whether you need a new duffel for travel or a duty bag for your tactical gear, the new LAPG carry-on duffel is the perfect option – all the while maintaining as small of a footprint as possible. And isn’t that what we all look for in a bag? The bag is extremely well built and because it is has the LAPG quality that we all know and love, it is worth every penny of the $60 price tag.
