Had to break out the old blog search engine to get my own reminder and now I’m on an operation to remind you about another super fantastic LAPG branded piece of gear.I remember the images, little of the text and certainly forgot the date. Twas back in the ass end of the year 2011 that we graced the blog with pictures and info of our very own Operator Backpack. We designed it, had it made (yes, overseas) and managed to leave the word “Tactical” out of the name. Go us.
Long distance teaser shot here of the LAPG Operator Backpack in OD Green which is still my color kick of the moment. Made from 600 Denier nylon, it features a padded back, padded shoulder straps and just enough compartments to meet your organizational needs, no matter what the job.
Behind all of that lovely, back padding is the necessary hiding spot to provide hydration compatibility with bladders up to 100 oz (3 Liters). When you receive your bladder of choice (not included) you’ll be able to route the drinking straw to either side of the pack via Velcro openings in the top of the pack.
The main compartment of this pack features a large amount of space for bulky items, and also adjustable straps to tie down smaller items or clothing. The lower front compartment features mesh dividers and compartments for extra storage and organization. The outside of this compartment is covered in PALS webbing for additional pouches or attachments to be mounted.
The upper front compartment features two sections. The first is a narrow compartment accessed from the very front that can be used for even more additional storage (no organizers in this one). The larger bulk of the pocket features numerous organizers and two adjustable magazine pouches. It is great for holding ammo, medical kits, pens, or anything else you may need.
Other features that deserve honorable mention are the front hook and loop panel for the attachment of nameplates or morale patches and the trio of heavy duty carry handles for ease of moving this baby around. Logically you’ll find one up top but we also thought it wise to add one to each side of the pack to increase carry options and to keep up with any off balance or awkward load outs.
In lieu of getting to verbose, we’ll hand things over to snareman95 and his sexy HD video review on YouTube. If there’s something we left out, he covers it and provides a detailed look at what you’re getting:
